Projects
Video Production
Summary
Felspar Forever (2024) is my most proud media project that I’ve ever made. Under the alias “Sammy the Cisco Kid”, I organized multiple cameramen in an extremely chaotic environment. The “man-with-a-camera” approach to filmmaking is something I hope to keep in my work where ever I go.
While I consider this my current magnum-opus, I have since learned a great amount of camera, lighting, audio, and editing technique. Even though I am still quite proud of my work on this project, my skills have come a far way
Audio Production
This is a song I wrote, played, and produced titled “supercrush64” using my alias “supowman 5000” (I have a bunch of alias’s). Audio production is also something I very much enjoy whether that be through music programs like GarageBand and FL Studios, or audio documentaries, interviews, and podcasts on Adobe Auditions.
writing
Writing for me is a love/hate type of relationship. Being assigned a long writing assignment fills me with dread a lot of the time. However, once I sit down to do it, and better yet, feel inspired by the topic, I usually do a fine job.
The top example is the most proud and giddy a paper assignment has ever made me. It was for a class called Film Theory and Criticism, and man, that class whooped me. The readings were challenging, the professor was strict, and I thought about dropping the class, but looking back on it, that class was my favorite class all throughout college.
The paper titled “How Neon Genesis Evangelion (and The End of Evangelion), Perfect Blue, and Paprika Are All Connected and About Dreams, Reality, Identity, Womanhood, and Stuff and Maybe We Are Inventing a New Genre Called Japanese Femimation Surreal Identity Horror, IDK Let’s Get Crazy With It!” and it’s all about connecting 3 of my most favorite movies into one genre. It’s worth a read.
The second example is a script for short film I wrote titled “Copenhagen, Maybe”. I was dreading this assignment, but I was proud of it by the end. It tackles some intense and complicated feelings at the time, relating with desperation, depression, and idealization. Maybe someday I will make this into a film.
